Modern agriculture is undergoing a rapid digital transformation. Data, satellite technologies, and advanced analytical tools are becoming essential for making more informed and efficient farming decisions. Addressing these challenges, the project “AGRI-GIS: Training Program for Enhancing the Management and Analysis of Geographical Information by Agriculture Technicians (2025-1-ES01-KA220-VET-000363836)” has been launched under the Erasmus+ Programme.
AGRI-GIS focuses on strengthening the competences of agricultural technicians in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). These tools enable monitoring crop conditions, analysing soil moisture, identifying risks such as pests, diseases, or drought, and optimising the use of natural resources. The use of geospatial data is increasingly recognised as a key driver for improving both productivity and sustainability in agriculture.
Within the project, an innovative training programme is being developed, including a modern training methodology, practical learning materials, and a comprehensive guide for trainers. A strong emphasis is placed on real-life applications of GIS tools in everyday agricultural practice. The project will also deliver case studies based on real geospatial data from partner countries, ensuring relevance and adaptability to different regional contexts.
A key component of AGRI-GIS is the development of digital learning resources and an e-learning platform, making knowledge widely accessible, particularly for stakeholders in rural areas. In this way, the project contributes not only to building technical skills but also to supporting the digital and green transition of the agricultural sector.
As a project partner, the Polish Farm Advisory and Training Centre is actively involved in developing training materials and dissemination activities. Our goal is to translate advanced technologies into practical solutions accessible to farmers and agricultural advisors across Europe.

In the coming months, further results will be developed, including training materials and tools supporting precision agriculture. Similarly to initiatives such as Crop-Matching, AGRI-GIS aims to deliver practical, data-driven solutions that support farmers in their decision-making processes.
AGRI-GIS represents an important step towards smarter, more sustainable, and climate-resilient agriculture.
