The Open Doors project is pleased to present the “Open Doors – Tourism 360º Report”, developed within the Erasmus+ KA210-VET project Open Doors – Building Accessibility in European Tourism.
The report was created as part of Activity 2 – Interaction with stakeholders and collection of good practices and presents the results of a consultation process carried out in Portugal, Italy and Poland. Between February and March 2026, project partners organised 15 consultation sessions involving 67 participants, including civil society organisations, tourism operators and institutional stakeholders.
The report highlights that accessibility in tourism is not only a social responsibility, but also an important factor for the sustainable and competitive development of tourist destinations. It identifies key challenges, such as physical and infrastructural barriers, lack of accessible information, limited training, insufficient coordination between stakeholders and the need to better integrate accessibility into tourism policies.
At the same time, the publication presents practical recommendations and good practices from the three partner countries. These include accessible cultural routes, adapted tourism services, improved digital communication, training for tourism professionals, cooperation between public institutions, businesses and civil society, and the development of practical tools such as checklists and guidelines for operators.
The report also underlines the connection between accessible tourism and the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the areas of quality education, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities, decent work, responsible consumption and partnerships.
Through this publication, the Open Doors partnership aims to support tourism professionals, local communities and decision-makers in creating more inclusive, welcoming and accessible tourism experiences for all.
